The Flint district is banning cell phones and hoodies in school buildings effective Jan. 3, according to a recent Flint Board of Education decision and announcement by Superintendent Kevelin Jones ahead of the winter break, which begins Wednesday, Dec. 20, and continues through Tuesday, Jan. 2.
