UTV Takeover got off to a busy start Wednesday at Box Car Hill Campground in North Bend, located at: 92799 Tran Pacific Ln, North Bend, OR 97459. Neiborhood Golf Cart
With events scheduled for children and adults through Sunday, an expected 10,000 patrons will visit the South Coast event.
Utility Terrain Vehicles allow for several riders to one vehicle.
Roughly 8,000 UTV’s will take on the Box Car dunes over the next five days.
“The UTV Takeover focuses on expanding the sand family. We celebrate, support and grow the off-road community,” said Zach Jeffers, spokesperson for Side-By-Side Guys.
Wednesday will feature a Tire Toss, drag racing, a happy hour meet and greet and an 8:00 p.m. night ride.
Another festival favorite, Huck Fest, features a jump and landing to see which car can jump the farthest.
Wheelie Fest will also bring the thrill seekers to the line to wheelie across the sand.
“We have a dune that promotes a wheelie as you come across the hill. Riders will wheelie as far as they can. We’ve had people wheelie up to 264 ft.,” said Camden Marquette, media manager for UTV Takeover.
Friday night, thousands of lit-up UTV's will ride through the dunes along with a Concert on the Dunes at 9:00 p.m. with food vendors and a bonfire.
The event runs through Sunday.
