The Made in Goa breeze  | The Navhind Times

For the first time a Goan company Aerflo Technologies, co-founded by Rohan Parab and Dinar Prabhu is manufacturing fans locally at its unit based in Bethora, Ponda, reports Nirgosh Gaude

After working in multiple companies testing their skills, two Goa based engineers Rohan Parab and  Dinar Prabhu,  have developed Aerflo Goa’s own fan brand which has potential to become a national brand. Brushless Motor For Fan

The USP of the Aerflo range is its unique technology which is not just saving the power usage in the fans but also gives almost 3 degrees cooler air compared to the traditional fans.  Interestingly within three years of the start-up, the unit has achieved over 3.60 lakh customers with more than 100 percent satisfaction report. Arflo also has R&D certification to its name.

Rohan Parab a mechanical engineer residing in Ponda, while Dinar Prabhu a electronic engineer from Mapusa came together to start their venture named Aerflo Technologies Pvt  Ltd.,  with the help of Ganpat Parab a director of the company.

The company’s manufacturing is at Bethoda Industrial estate, while the seller base is across Goa, as well as some parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra especially in Mumbai.  Towards providing after sales service, Aerflo has a team of service providers in each area and 100 percent customer satisfaction is the aim of the company.  That is how much trust the founders have in their product. They said that, their products are developed  based on user experience.

Aerflo uses Brushless Direct-Current (BLDC) motor technology in the fans, which convert electric energy to mechanical energy. Intelligent speed control, high torque, and low maintenance are the characteristics of the BLDC technology.

According to the founders, BLDC fan technology is energy efficient and helps in cost-cutting  of the electricity bills. A BLDC motor functions on direct-current electricity. The motor contains permanent magnets rather than electromagnets used in induction motors. The permanent magnet has less heat loss and energy compared to electromagnets. A BLDC motor convert’s alternating current into DC. That works at power fluctuations and on low voltage. The BLDC fan technology not just helps in saving energy but also in reducing the room temperature giving cooler air compared to the conventional fans.

Interestingly, Areflo is the only company in Goa doing in-house manufacturing of the BLDC fans wherein the components of the motors and the fans are produced by the company. The in house production of components helps the company to customize the motor as per need.

There are other brands too, who are into BLDC fans in India, but they are importing the components from China and then assembling the same in their plant. This gives upper hand to the fans manufactured by the company over the other brands, especially in giving service. Areflo can change the required components in case of any damage, while other brands import the entire board,” said Parab.

BLDC Controller Solution For Hair Dryer Prabhu explains that, although the cost of the BLDC fans are on a slightly higher side compared to conventional fans, customers recover the extra money within 6 months due to power saving.
